While the rest of us try and muddle through 2018, this little girl, and her smartwatch, are living in the year 3000. This video clip of a little girl using her smartwatch to buy candy is a glimpse into the future of wearable tech.
She’s barely tall enough to see over the counter, but the little girl has no trouble at all making the purchase with her cute little pink device.

Earlier this month, IDC reported the wearable technology market is in the midst of a transition from first-generation solutions to a comprehensive experience woven together by an ecosystem of hardware, software, banking, retail and fashion partners. As that happens, the market for wearable tech is a bit stalled.
“The shift from basic wearables to smartwatches is well on its way,” said Jitesh Ubrani senior research analyst for IDC Mobile Device Trackers. “With it, we anticipate far greater diversity in terms of design, feature set, brands, and most importantly, price points than ever before.”
While the market sorts out the finer points of wearable tech, it’s important to, as the great philosopher Kanye West once said, “Listen to the kids, man!”
And they’re perfectly happy to ditch cash.
